What is Biodiesel?

Biodiesel is a cleaner burning, renewable fuel for diesel engines made from crops (like canola or soybean) or from used cooking oil and other fats.  Biodiesel can be used in existing diesel engines with little or no mechanical modification.

Biodiesel has many benefits.  It is simple to use, biodegradable and nontoxic.  Biodiesel can be blended at any level with standard petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend.  Click here to learn more.

Our Goals:

Education

  • Educate the general public through community forums and other public events.
  • Educate students, teachers and parents through school programs.
  • Develop and deliver broadcast and print media materials promoting biodiesel.

Advocacy

Mobilize and organize consumers and other interested citizens to influence public officials in local, regional, state and federal government to adopt policies promoting biodiesel use in all public sectors, and to pass legislation that promotes biodiesel use in general.

Networking

Provide a bridge between consumer, public, and commercial sectors to facilitate cooperation in attaining our mission.
